Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by an Altric Africar Safaris representative and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for check-in and safari briefing.

Overnight: Nairobi Hotel (e.g., Sarova Panafric / Eka Hotel)

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve, passing through the scenic central highlands and crossing the equator. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive where you’ll spot unique northern species like the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx.

Day 3: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy a full day of game drives in this semi-arid reserve that hosts elephants, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife. The Ewaso Nyiro River provides a vital water source, attracting many animals for excellent viewing.

Overnight: Samburu Lodge / Ashnil Samburu Camp

Day 4: Samburu – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart early for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive along the shores of Lake Nakuru — a world-famous bird sanctuary known for its flamingos, pelicans, and over 400 bird species. You may also spot rhinos, lions, leopards, and giraffes.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, drive through the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara, Kenya’s most celebrated reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive across the rolling plains teeming with wildlife.

Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge / Ashnil Mara Camp

Day 6 & 7: Full Days in Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend two full days exploring the vast savannahs of the Mara. Look out for the Big Five and witness the Great Migration (July–October) as wildebeests cross the crocodile-infested Mara River. Optional activities include a balloon safari or Maasai village visit.

Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge / Ashnil Mara Camp

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi / Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight or to your preferred hotel.
